Upcycling Old Knife Holder

So I was roaming through Pinterst and found such a great, crafty idea from Roaming Rolfe's blogspot! Thank you for the inspiration!

You know how I love turquoise, so again I found a fun way to incorporate it into my decor! The color is Martha Stewart Lagoon, leftover from a previous project ( Turquoise Armorie)! Here is how I did it! Now my mixer and knife holder all match! I'm loving my kitchen even more!!

  4. Upcycling is when you use a found object and turn it into something else to keep it out of the landfill. This isn't upcycling, it's just decorating.

    1. You are correct, this is just decorating, not upcycling.

I do not feel your comment was rude or insulting. Just correcting the terminology. Which is appreciated by me.

  5. She did up cycle she added her style to it rather than tossing it into a landfill and purchasing a brand new one. Why would you respond only to insult others. You did a beautiful job up cycling it!

  7. Upcycling is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value.

An unpainted knife block is hardly waste or useless.

She did a beautiful job on the knife holder and I decided to redecorate mine or upcycle or whatever terminology you want to use.....stop being so technical. This is supposed to be fun.

  11. True...who cares if it's "upcycling, recycling or redecorating", it rocks and that was the point of the Blog to begin with. Clearly, she doesn't need a Wikipedia degree...just a paint brush and paint! Some people... I'm now going to take your AWESOME idea and make mine Red to match my Kitchen Aid mixer. Thanks for the post. :)
